Help your child develop media mindfulness. All media send some kind of message. Watch a television program with your child or go to an age-appropriate movie. Pay attention to the actors and actresses. Listen carefully to how the story is being told.

Ask your child about what she or he liked or did not like about the story.
Talk about the choices the characters made.
What might he or she have done if they were in the situation?
Express and explain your opinion by sharing your values with your family.
Before going to bed, say a prayer for the actors and actresses that they may always tell good stories through their acting.
