THE ROSARY

"A world at prayer is a world at peace."
Father Patrick Peyton

Watch "Why We Should Love The Virgin Mary"- Pope Francis Minute

How to Pray the Rosary with Your Children

  1. Place a picture or statue of Mary for your children to view.
  2. Be comfortable. Take a few slow deep breaths. Experience quiet.
  3. Light a candle.
  4. Pray the "Sign of the Cross" slowly while holding the crucifix.
  5. On a "mystery" bead (see picture below), announce a particular event in the lives of Jesus and Mary. Be silent. Offer a petition or an intention. Then, pray the "Our Father."
  6. Afterwards, pray a "Hail Mary" while holding each of the next three beads.
  7. Next, pray a "Glory Be to the Father."
  8. End by holding the crucifix while praying the "Sign of the Cross" slowly and reverently.

Deepen your families experience of the Rosary: Focus on the words of the prayers. Reflect on the mysteries of Christ's life. Contemplate the scenes. Focus on the holy name of Jesus speaking it tenderly and with love.
