Saint Julian of Norwich

Pray as you go. Free listening on Sound Cloud

Each night before bedtime, find a quiet place without the distraction of TV, computer or cell phone. Take a deep breath and remember that God is in you. In your heart, speak to God. Perhaps say something like:

  1. Here I am, Lord. I know that you are with me.
  2. Thank you, God, for this day. One good thing I remember about today is ...
  3. As I think about today and all the things that happened I feel....(happy, sad, content, worried)  Make an Examination of Conscience using the "Going to Confession" book pages 6-8 or The Ten Commandments.
  4. Lord, I didn't always do the right thing today. I am sorry about... (Pray the Act of Contrition)
  5. Help me to be a good disciple tomorrow.

because of your just punishments,
but most of all because they offend You,
my God,
Who are all-good
and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace,
to sin no more
and to avoid the near occasions of sin.
  Amen.
