"The Eucharist is "the source and summit of our Christian Life."  CCC136

"Then He took the bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, which will be given for you; do this in memory of me."  And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which will be shed for you."
Luke 22:19-20

“Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these…           Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them.”
Mark 10:14.16

Christ addresses the above words to us. It is a privilege to work together with the Holy Spirit to nurture in your child’s heart a deep faith and love for Jesus as he or she prepares to participate fully in the Eucharistic celebration by receiving Holy Communion for the first time.  Our class preparation will center on the sacrifice of the Mass to help the children grow in their understanding and appreciation of the great gift of the Eucharist.  A good way for you and your family to draw closer together in Christ's love and to deepen an appreciation of the Mass and Holy Communion is by being a good witness.
  • Develop a practice of coming to Mass with your child each week.
  • Help your child to learn the responses at Mass.
  • Take time to talk with with your child about the Eucharist.
  • Help your child memorize prayers to prepare them for the Eucharist & to make a thanksgiving afterward.
  • Reflect on the Mass as a Family
  • Share photos and stories from you First Holy Communion.
