PREPARING FOR FIRST PENANCE

"God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him."  1 John 4:16
This is what reconciliation does for us: living in God and letting God live in us.
It brings us peace with ourselves, with others, and with God.

Watch "Understanding God's Mercy" by Allison Low

What is the Sacrament of Penance?

God loves you! This is why He offers us sanctifying grace through this very special sacrament. Even though we are children of God through the Sacrament of Baptism, we are still able to sin against or disobey His laws. When we sin, we move farther away from God, and we can easily become separated from Him. The Sacrament of Penance leads us back to God and restores sanctifying grace (God's life within us) to our soul.
With a good confession many things will happen:
Your Sins will be Forgiven.
You will Receive Sanctifying Grace into your Soul.
You will Receive the Strength to be a Good Christian.                         (CCC 1468-69)
